2-Step – During the 1920’s, country music began to emerge as a new face in the national music scene. As country music began to grow, so did the people’s desire to dance to it. Two-Step got its initial roots in Texas where cowboys were introduced to the Foxtrot. Several years later we have the Two-Step that we all now know. Two-Step is danced along the line of dance using a Quick-Quick-Slow-Slow rhythm. Two-Step uses several turns and holds that are unique to country dancing and not used in ballroom dancing.
