Waltz SilhouetteWaltz – Originating from Europe in the late 1700’s, the Waltz is danced in a 3/4 timing that makes it unique from any of the other social dances. The Waltz has an elegant rise and fall characteristic, which allows the Waltz to flow fluidly around the room. Waltz, also known as “Slow Waltz,” has evolved over the years from the Viennese Waltz’s faster 6/8 tempo. The rhythm was gradually slowed down over time as songwriters of ballads and love songs chose to compose in a slower and more comfortable tempo.
